Last season was a phenomenal year for RHS Volleyball! Of course, like any season, there were highs and lows, but each team rose to a new level of on-the-court achievements and personal growth. We had some just starting volleyball, long-time veterans, and some going on to college to begin another fantastic journey in their life, but today, it was finally time to celebrate!
Being a part of last night's festivities was more than personal awards; it was about being united as a team for players, coaches, and parents alike. It felt more like a family reunion. A famous athlete once said: Even when you've played the game of your life, it's the feeling of teamwork that you'll remember. You'll forget the plays, the shots, and the scores, but you'll never forget your teammates. Of course, there will always be those heartbreaking losses and underdog wins that will stick with us forever, but the bonds we form will be some of the most significant relationships in our lives.
So, as some of us anxiously await next season and others going on to DO GREAT THINGS, tonight we get to be together as a team and share in one another's accolades. As Coach Ferrante said, as much as the coaches put into this program, they wouldn't be able to do what they do without the player's and parents' commitments.

Parent Awards: Our parents are the bees-knees! Truly. Everyone who could and couldn't attend are just a great group of parents and it's no wonder why we have such a fabulous group of athletes! We could have been there all night handing out awards. However, Coach wanted to spotlight just a few who really took an extra step to help our great program. Unfortunately, one of the parents, Michele Esch, couldn't be with us tonight, but a BIG SHOUT OUT to her for all her contributions and for making the end-of-season video; if you haven't seen it, it's truly a treat to watch, click here to view.
Freshman Awards: With Coach Poston leading the helm, no wonder the Freshman team had such a great season. These girls worked hard and deserved their time to shine!
JV Awards: Coach Hynson truly prepares these girls for the next level of play. These girls showed great determination and dedication to the sport, and are an amazing group of athletes.
Last but certainly not least, Varsity Awards: The Varsity team has a lot to boast about. Coach Ferrante was named AVCA Coach of the Year; the varsity team won both Howard County & 3A Volleyball State Championships. Remarkable is an understatement! We couldn't be more proud to see these girls shine like the bright stars they are!
